We are looking for a motivated AV Installation Technician who enjoys hands-on work, learning new technologies, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Summary

The Audio Visual Installation Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and servicing commercial audio and video systems. This position works both independently and alongside other technicians to complete projects ranging from conference room systems and digital signage to church sound systems and network-connected AV equipment.

This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time career as the company expands.

Responsibilities

  • Install televisions, projectors, projection screens, and video walls
  • Mount displays and install ceiling-mounted equipment
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test network, speaker, HDMI, and low-voltage cabling
  • Install and configure speakers, amplifiers, mixers, microphones, DSPs, and audio systems
  • Install PTZ cameras, livestream equipment, and video production hardware
  • Assemble and wire equipment racks
  • Install wireless presentation and conferencing systems
  • Configure basic network settings for AV equipment
  • Test and troubleshoot installed systems
  • Train customers on proper system operation
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Complete installation documentation and service reports
  • Represent Connect Media Solutions professionally at customer locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience installing commercial AV systems
  • Experience with low-voltage cabling
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Familiarity with HDMI, SDI, CAT6, fiber optics, and PoE
  • Experience with church audio/video systems is a plus
  • Experience with PTZ cameras and livestreaming equipment is a plus
  • Ability to read installation drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Climb ladders and work at heights
  • Work in attics, ceilings, and crawl spaces when necessary
  • Safely operate power tools and hand tools
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and work on installation sites for extended periods

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends when projects require
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
